MEET THE TEAM!

Alisha Chowdhury: Founder

Alisha grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana and was raised by immigrant parents from Bangladesh. Her resilience and determination are a reflection of her parents, who came to the U.S. with very limited resources and did everything to provide for their children. Alisha studied on a scholarship at the University of Pennsylvania, where she pursued a double major in Economics and Political Science. She began her career as an investor at Vanguard, and later transitioned to be a private equity investor in New York. Outside of work, Alisha sat on the advisory board for non-profit, Girls Who Invest and today, she is an ambassador and mentor.

When Alisha made her first “big” paycheck, she realized that despite working in finance, no one had ever taught her how to manage her own money. She realized that many young adults, including herself, often felt adrift when navigating personal finances. Although she had become a professional in the world of finance, the lessons she wished she had learned about money, both in school and at home, were missing, just like many others.

Alisha is dedicated to leveling the playing field in financial education. She envisions a world where everyone has equal access to financial knowledge, empowering them to foster a positive relationship with money and ultimately enhance their overall well-being.

David Welsh: Financial Coach Advisor

David was born in Mumbai, India and he was adopted from an orphanage by an American family who raised him in Boston, MA, U.S.A. After graduating with a BSc in International Business from American University in Washington, D.C., he wanted to give back in some way for the wonderful learning opportunities he had been given.

David travelled back to India to help provide educational and employment opportunities for underprivileged young adults in schools throughout India. His initiatives included establishing a computer and software training programme for high schools in India, a recruiting firm connecting students with internships and a chocolate truffle company donating profits to his orphanage in Mumbai.

After earning his MBA from London Business School, he worked for Deloitte and then established his own management consultancy and executive coaching practice.

David is passionate about equipping young adults with the skills and knowledge to realize their financial ambitions, and especially improving their financial literacy and decision-making to transform their financial well-being.
